At first glance, it had to scream Wes Anderson. Without text explaining, the cover would need to immediately convey who the book is about.
This design of the cover exemplifies Wes Anderson’s signature style, characterized by meticulous symmetry and central focal points throughout his films. The concept capitalizes on this by utilizing an iconic, symmetrical shot from one of his movies, split in half on the cover through a cleverly designed gatefold.
The books spreads reflect the same idea as the cover, referencing Anderson’s symmetrical style throughout the entirety of the book. The centered text runs down the middle of every page only broken up by images which also line-up in the center.
